Coastal Plants & Processes Workshop

Saturday 11 August 2012

Care for Hedland’s Garden Club along with Greening Australia will be taking participants on a journey through the coastal zone. Learn about coastal processes from one of Australia’s leading coastal scientists as well as about the local conditions that are leading to erosion at Cooke Point. We will then venture out to the Spoil Bank and along Sutherland Street to explore some of the beautiful native coastal plants that can be found there and how these can be collected and propagated for use in dune stabilisation and coastal habitat restoration. Next stop will be Cooke Point to see a classic example of coastal dune erosion first hand and finally, bring along a snack to be enjoyed at Pretty Pool.
